KitchenAid Countertop Oven, Countour Silver Reviews
16 of 16 people found the following review helpful Wish I'd read reviews first., December 10, 2010 This review is from: KitchenAid Countertop Oven, Countour Silver (Kitchen) This is the first KitchenAid product I have purchased that I would NOT recommend. The oven door does not open completely flat. Hard to get anything out without burning yourself on the upper element.

The mechanical timer ticker is loud. Incredibly so (I am so not kidding. This is my main complaint). This doesn't so much toast as make bread stale to the core, then burn it. The heating elements take a very, very long time to heat up. Then, in a 15 second window the bread goes from dried to the core to burnt, which sets off the smoke alarm. Every time. It is solid, well made, the door doesn't squeek, and is NOT attached to the grill (unlike other designs!). It will probably do a wonderful job of baking, broiling, or heating. However, a toaster OVEN is what we wanted. It is also NOT going to stay here, and IS going into its' box and BACK to the store where we bought it.
10 of 10 people found the following review helpful I like this toaster oven, April 1, 2011 By This review is from: KitchenAid Countertop Oven, Countour Silver (Kitchen) I replaced a twice as expensive Krups which didn't toast the bottom of the bread as much as the top and for many other reasons.
This oven makes great toast as long as you remember to use the bottom most shelf for it as it says in the manual. It is impossible to burn toast this way even when the dial is moved to the Dark position. If you use the top shelf for toast, it will burn.
It also crisps home breaded foods as good as any other oven can, using the included pan on the middle shelf. And it does so very evenly with no hot spots. Hopefully, this will not change as I continue to use the oven.
The very top shelf is used only for broiling which I have not tried as yet.
I appreciate that each of the four heating elements has a stainless perforated covering which disperses the heat evenly throughout the interior.
Toast comes out as a cross between baked and toast, still crisp on the outside and soft inside. A bit different from a... Read more
