Addressing the door issue another reviewer mentioned. The door positively locks open, but needs to be opened all the way...with the handle touching the countertop...in order to latch properly. I doubt that's going to be an issue for most people. Just make sure the counter is clear in front of the unit as it should be anyway, and use reasonable care.
The Bella Cucina replaced a much more expensive unit in my kitchen, and it seems as good or better.

Dangerous toaster, October 10, 2009 By M. Kim (Illinois) - See all my reviews This review is from: Sensio 13348 Bella Cucina 1500-Watt 6-Slice Toaster Oven/Broiler (Kitchen) The door on this toaster over is spring loaded, so it slams shut on your hand when you try to take something out of it. My son badly burned his hand using it. The only way to avoid this is to prop it up on something so the door can open far enough to "catch" and stay open.

(The old one was great; it was a workhorse and dependable, but a bit dirty and just one too many things to bring with me on my trip.)
I went with this one since I got it at a steep discount. Thus far I've only used this to toast, not to bake or broil. So:
The good:
1.) It looks nice out of the box. Shiny!
The bad:
1.) It takes up quite a bit of space on my small counter top. My old toaster was not as deep and it fit 4 slices. This one claims to hold 6, but it really accommodates 4 more easily. I haven't been quite able to get 6 slices in there. Hence I don't know why it needs to be so gigantic.
2.) I read some of the other reviews on here before I bought this. Now I can tell you: the comment by the one reviewer about the (hot) oven door springing back on you is a valid one... Read more
