A winner!, April 4, 2006 By Amazon Verified Purchase A friend of mine showed me a picture of one of these she printed out from some website. I knew what a convection oven was, and this odd looking thing that looked like a Dutch oven was hybridized with a tea kettle was NOT a convection oven!
She got one---and loves it! She and her husband use it daily. Her husband, who is physically impaired due to a stroke several years ago, has no problem using it. After seeing it in action myself on several occasions--and eating the beef, chicken and fish cooked in it--I decided to get one of my own.
I have made beef, chicken and fish in here, as well as some veggies (sliced sweet potato) and fruit (I got a metal pan that fits inside, and have baked chopped apples and pairs with cinnamon, sugar, raisins and nuts). While I don't think I'll be baking cakes or cookies in here, and it is still faster to nuke a potato, and I won't give up my cast iron skillet and regular oven when I make omelets, I, too, and using the Sunpentown... Great Product, May 20, 2004 This review is from: Sunpentown SO-2000 Super Turbo Multi-Function Round-Shaped 12-Liter Convection Oven (Kitchen) This is a great product, much like the Galloping Gourmet Convection Oven that came out about 10 years ago. I ordered this product when my old oven finally gave up the ghost after 10 years. I thought I would never find a similar product that would work like my old oven, but this one does. If you want oven quality food microwave fast, this is your product. It is well worth the price, I paid twice that for my old oven. Thanks Supentown and Amazon. Great Product!!!!

Warranty = beware, January 23, 2007 The one unfortunate thing about these ovens is the unreliability. Most people get them, love them, use them and they fail early. Less than a year.
Everyone in the family got them at one point and nobody has a working unit today. If there was a warranty, getting it fixed was too much of a hassle and they ended up in the garbage. They fail with melting components, handle switches not working, etc.
Check the manufacturer website as a sign of unreliability, Supertown offers a one year warranty and the victim of the poor product manufacturing has to cover all the cost of shipping the product back with insurance.
These are throw away units when they break. When they work, they are the best kitchen appliance that you can have (check other reviews). But when they fail (not an "if", but a "when"), you can decide to buy another brand or stop using these ovens all together.
